Natural Source

Illustrator, Photoshop, Film negatives, MDF laser cuts, Wood.As a paired work, Natural Source explores ecological systems and the human impulse to deconstruct, categorize, and reassemble them.

Part I translates a tree into a sculpture, reassembling organic elements to rebuild its original form. Part II incorporates film negatives into a functional wooden lamp, casting light through imagery of longing.

Framed by new materialism and the life cycles of matter, the two structures converse to explore how physical materials can reconstruct lost or distant imagery through the medium of wood and its inherent record of time.
